Your Summer Creative Fix: 2027 Retreats + What Else We’re Up to!
Happy Summer everyone!
I hope you're enjoying some summer downtime to get outside and be creative! Here’s what’s going on the next few months with Art & Faith Creative.
July ~
July has flown by, hasn’t it! I just got back from Franklin, TN, where I spent a fun week exploring the area, painting with a friend, (you may know & love her too) and eating yummy food. That area is so pretty, but I am not used to that humidity! Now that I'm back in "sunny" Colorado though, it's decided to rain every day, so I don’t know which one I’d prefer. Oh well, I have lots to do inside, and we really need the rain.
Now you may be asking, are we really talking about 2027 already? Yes, yes we are! The first retreat for 2027 is already up for registration, and next Monday I’ll have 3 MORE ready for you to sign up!
If you want to know all about them, this past Saturday I posted a YouTube video on all the places we're headed in 2027, and you’re going to want to watch this video:
I also have a video coming out today, a little FAQ session, I recorded this past Sunday afternoon. I thought it’d be helpful if you're considering joining us next year, so take a moment to watch and let me know if it was helpful for you. I can't wait to see who joins us!
Here’s that video:
It was fun sitting down to answer your questions but as always, if you have other questions or need help deciding which one to join, I am happy to get on a phone call with you or answer your email.
You can find all the details on our Registration Page.
As a side note: I'm having fun figuring out this whole "YouTuber" thing this summer, so let me know what you think! It’s a little hard for this introvert to record herself, but I’m trying to get over the fear and just do it. :)
A couple weeks ago I posted a video that went kind of "viral" for me, all about portable printers. I love them and have used them for years, so I compared a few for you. I’m doing a follow-up video THIS Saturday comparing the cost of the film too, since that seems to be something people are interested in. you can look for that soon!
August ~
I've decided to do something next month, and I'd love for you to join in with me so we can encourage each other.
I want to journal the book of Proverbs for the month of August! Since there are 31 chapters in Proverbs, it works out perfectly for the 31 days in August.
I'll be reading a chapter each day and then journaling it in my Art & Faith Journal. So if you'd like to join me, leave a comment or send me an email. It won't be anything too detailed, but I'll follow the same rhythm I've been using in my Art & Faith Journaling practice and I’d love for you to join me! If you'd like to know more about it, you can watch some of the videos I've created on YouTube, or I can send you a PDF that explains more.
I'll try to put together a quick little “SHORT” on YouTube this Saturday talking about this (since that's the first of August) and who knows, maybe I'll even do a live session on YouTube next month if I can figure that out, where we can journal together!
September ~
Now since September 22nd is officially the first day of fall, I’m claiming September as summer still… and heading back to my roots!
I’m teaching a workshop in Dana Point, California this September! If you’ve followed me long enough you’ll know that I got my start in the creative space by teaching classes…. Over 20 years ago! WOW… I taught at many different arts & crafts stores, industry craft shows and special events. I even had a “kit club” called “A Kiss on the Chic” that I sent out monthly! (I’ve been thinking about doing something like that again…) It was such a creative time and the pre-cursor to my creative retreats. Well, I’m starting to get back into doing mini workshops and a friend of mine has asked me to teach at her new shop in Dana Point. I’ll have more details about that event soon, and I’d love for you to join me if you live in the area. So save the date of Saturday, September 19th and I’ll share the details soon!
Lastly, I’ll be starting the Scholarship Fund process in September! So if you’d like to donate your artwork again, I would REALLY appreciate it! And if you want to apply for the scholarship, I will have all the details of how you can apply up on this blog early September.
Have a GREAT Wednesday everyone!
Hugs to all,
Laura
