Here’s what I’m LOVING today!
Vermont & Maine! Oh my goodness, this retreat was SO beautiful, I have to share some photos and moments from our retreat… So grab a coffee and sit a while with me.
Our 2026 Art & Faith Creative Retreats wrapped up with a beautiful season in Vermont and Maine, and I'm humbled and in awe of God, yet again.
How can I even begin to explain what He is doing through these retreats? I can't think about it without tears falling down my face, every single time. To think this is what He had planned for this shy girl who loved reading books and staying home. No one would have guessed it from my high school yearbook! 😂
But God. His plans are bigger than our own. I'm living proof that He can take anyone and change a heart of stone into a heart of clay, a heart that says, "Yes, Lord, I'm all in." That took many years of His work in my life, and it remains a lifelong journey of surrendering my will to His.
But God. Outside of my family, these creative retreats for women are the sweetest joy of my life. Every emotion is mixed in, from the deeply hard to the boldly adventurous to the peace that truly passes understanding.
But God. Women from around the world, who don't know me from Adam, trust me with their time, their money, their creativity and their hearts. They fly across oceans on their own to travel, create, dig into God's Word, and explore together. That is so brave! Since 2012, I've watched Him weave these women's lives together for His purposes, and I stand in awe every time.
But God. He takes women who don't feel brave, who carry hurts, who may not have a close circle of friends at home or a pile of savings for travel, and He makes a way. He quiets my own doubts too, when I wonder whether a retreat will sell out or whether I can keep doing this. Each time I pray that He goes before us and brings the women He wants there, and He does exactly that.
This year's devotional theme: the awe of God
This year's theme was the awe of God, and I want to tell you, friends, that He alone is worthy of awe. He worked out SO many things on this retreat. Cancelled flights, sickness, emergencies at home, no eggs to a carton full of eggs, women who never met before but found out they go to the same church! So many stories of His faithfulness! Trust Him. Look to Him. Praise Him, even when you don't know what's next or understand what He's calling you to do.
My life verse is this:
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
We know life isn't easy. It can feel like a bumpy road driven with a blindfold on. But God has given us a roadmap. He wrote His story down for us, the HOPE we can have in Jesus and the assurance of true eternal life we have when we put our faith in Him.
I'm not sure how this post wandered here, but maybe I do, because the Gospel is at the heart of these faith based creative retreats. Pointing women back to Jesus and encouraging them to live for Him is what it's all about.
Thank you for letting me speak from my heart to yours. It brings me so much joy to help women connect their creativity back to their loving Creator, who has so much beauty for us to see and share in.
I hope to meet you in 2027! If you’d like to join me, you can find all the retreat details right HERE.
